Big crowd, and crazy cards falling at one table, and chaos theory working on the other made for an interesting evening.

Apologies to notes and names...I didn't get everything so please correct and I will edit this post accordingly!

Pre rebuy to go was Sean at the chaos table. Fireshirt took him down by calling an all-in with straight in hand vs one pair. Board looked like 789-10-6 and Fireshirt held the J-10. Sean had 7Q. But rebuy was soon and all went smooth.

It should be noted that on the first hand of that same table, the pot went to $25 - Chaos vs Dave - Chaos had KK and hit trips sucking in Dave for a big pot. eek.

After the rebuy, next to go was Dave by Fireshirt as well. Dave moved all-in with both a straight and flush draw and Fireshirt with his stack called (it was 2.75)...and his pair of nines held when the river ran dry.

A surprising 10th went to Rico - who didn't catch even the Mumps and eventually with AJ calls a move by Ross with 4s and the fours hit trips...but he was driving ze cockroach so he was stuck.

In 9th, Zeusy, who's trip aces had earlier been nailed by a FH, eventually was wiped by Scott. Zeus with QJ moves all in preflop and is called with 9-10 but Scott hit the 10 and Bam! Bye Zeusy~No shed for YOU!

ONT TABLE! 8 PLAYA'S LEFT. Big stacks - Fireshirt and Scott.

8th to go, but after two breaks, was Chaos Man, who we thought just might break us, but was caught by Fireshirt. Moving after the flop with QJ, Fireshirt with 63 suited had already hit 2 pair and well, hit the flush to rub it in on the river.

7th was Ross, whose hugh stack was demolished in an earlier hand, perhaps someone can enlighten me on it, was taken out by Fireshirt. Ross with KJ and is called by KQ when he moves all-in when the Flop hits J104....But the queen hit on the river.

6th to fall is Mark taken down by Fireshirt as well - AK vs A8..and eight hit. not sure of the timings but I think the all-in was after the entire board was down....it was gutsy~

5th and DAMN IT AGAIN!!!! No $ No points.....
Kodiak.
sigh.
She moves all in with AQ and Brad and Scott mumbles about who is going to call and eventually Scott does with A8. a-ha! BUT THE *#(^#(*%^# 8 hits the river so Kodiak packs her things and waddles on away.

Heather fell about 2 hands later, shortstacked, moves all-in with K10 preflop but dang, Brad calls with AA and to rub it in, hit the trip on the flop.

This infor I have from Fireshirt and Ross but no details to the hands as I was home,

3rd was Brad
2nd was Scott and
#1 was Fireshirt.

Quotes~

Chaos Man, "If I get to the rebuy that's a victory"

Zeus, (overheard) "he went all-in, it only lasted 1 second"

Sean to table, "Chicken Chow Meow" in response to talking Fireshirt's shirt and chinese restaurants.

Kodiak out

A quickie....

I have two recaps to do so this one will be short from the game two weeks passed, chez Kodiak. We had 7 playa's in for the game including the rare appearance of Stu and Mumbles. So a good game was on!

1st out though, was Stu who moved all in with KQ suited. Kodiak calls with A7 suited (she had some chips). And while the KQ hit on the flop, Kodiak hit her flush on the turn.

2nd to go was then Kodiak, of course! It was a big hand. Heather pushes all in after a raise was put out by Mumbles, the big stack man, . Kodiak calls and is called by mumbles after no hesitation. Cards flip, heather shows pocket 10s, Kodiak shows pocket Jacks and mumbles shows AS off suit. Flop hits K77-8-2- so Kodiak is gone...Heather is short, and mumbles, well, dang!

5th to go was Zeusy moving all-in with K3 and called by Heather with K-10. And while a king was donw, the 10 kicker counted.

4th to fly was Rico - no$ but some points. After a flop fell of AA2, and a ck by Mumbles on the flop and the turn, Rico moves all-in but Mumbles held the A so trips took him out.

3rd, and no$ but more points was Kill taken down by Mumbles as well. With K6 suited, he moves all-in to be called by mumbles with AJ. And A hit and while a king came later the pr of aces holds.

Heads Up!

Heather vs Mumbles. Back and forth for a bit with the final hand....With the board looking like 5Q9J and Heather holding 89 and Mumbles checking away, she pushes all-in but damn, he flips the rockets and the Aces hold when the K hits the river.

Quotes, (and I am writing them only b/c they are on the page as Rico and Stu were in charge of quote writing....)

Kill, "If you are reading this, the package was not intened for you" (re: the gummy bears)

Zeus, "If the flop hits, I'm flaccid as a lilly"

Zeus, "Size inconsistency in gummies is disconcerting to the mouth. It befuddled the palette"

Zeus, "As long as you're eatin'"

eeyew.

Kodiak out

Oh So, White and Nerdy

West SouthWest side south us play this weekend past chez the Zeus. Without the pregame entertainment of Top Gun, our minds were less controlled and we off to a fun start for 6 little piggies....

Almost a new record was set for the first all-in, all-out move my GI Joe....taken down by trip kings. Once again, our pre 10 play was stiffer than usual....no more limping in....and how could you? There were three hotties at the tables!

We also lost GI Jane pre rebuy but on the last hand at 959. She was taken down by Zeus...her 8 as a high card to fill in a flush was taken by Zeus's queen.

Rebuys were small....The GIs only with partial and Kodiak put in 75c. Had to.

The game, as per usual, moved slower with the Blinds raised but there was enough action for all. GI Jane left us again but this time by Pinky (Next game she may be bluey or greeny or blackie)....The board looked like 5A8Q10 and Gi Jane moved in, but Pinky had Q10 so her two pair were good.

Much later, at about 12, Kodiak fell after much play to Zeus. She was low and was doing her all-in moves, and eventually Zeus was annoyed enough to gamble. He flipped his Q10 offsuit but thin time the girl had something in her bra other than tissues...Her QA was lloking good.....BTW Pinky folded AK after much deliberation.....The board fell hard.....K10K65 so Zeus caught his 10. Of course, Pinky would have had trips and taken a big pot. Kodiak then deals.

So, next to go was Pinky, taken down by Rico with an all-in move by Pinky holding A6....Unfortunately, The BB Rico held KK and they held. No stealing here!

Top three, two paid.

Gi Joe fell next, whittled a bit, and eventually his all-in called by both Rico and Zeus and checked down....Rico's King high won.

Then the heads up battle ensued. A good little match was had and Rico attempted a bluff in the end with a strong board AQJ108...and a flush was possible.....Zeus saw the numbers and called knowing he would still have 1/2 the pot and his top pair (he held AQ) held against Ricos 45.

Some quotes....
Pinky to Zeus "I think you're small"
GI Jane to pinky "You're nothing right now"
GI Jane about GI Joe "I'm not used to waiting around for Joe"
Kodiak about Rico "He's got four inches"
GI Joe about Rico"sounds like chewbacca passing a stone"

and the memories of The Palace also resurface and yes, I am in therapy this week for it....

See you in 2

Kodiak out

Another delayed write up....but this time because I am still nearly flopping about......

Another adventure was had almost 2 weeks ago (April 13th).. did I mention it was a Friday? Let me see, once I had triplets on a Friday the thirteenth...curses... We had 8 show up at Kodiak's door, and all late at 831~ to do battle, including the return of Little Dot and Mike the Mouth. Nice to see ya guys!

It started off with the usual bangs, alerting Dot quickly (wait a sec, do these guys actually play now?)...big pots first hand. No more 25c I fold here little boys....

So, pre rebuy we lost one. Rico. All looked good. Rico moved all in at the flop with AQ and a board looking like 78A. GI Jane hesitates but makes the call....and BAM a 2 on the river. KA POW!

But many were down at the rebuy...5 were topping up...so where was all the cash....damn, Kodiak, where did you get those chips? heh heh

After 10, the play was tighter and the battle was on for who could be short stack. I think Mike was 1.5 inches and Rico was 2, but GI Joe was the winner at 1 inch.

So GI Joe fell to The Keeper (heather)...Yes I SAID GI JOE WAS TAKEN OUT BY A GIRL . He held AA to her J8 clubs and she called his all in at the river but she had hit her flushon that same river when the board looked like, 5J963, and the three was the club she needed)....club, clubbing, clubbing Joe. I say!

Then Rico fell to an inch and a preflop move all with A4 was called by Dot woth AK off suit. The board fell slow ....979AK. Game over.

Then GI Jane lost her momentum and was crushed by Mumbles. GI Jane moves all-in on the river holding AK and a board looking like 5833A. Mumbles held A5. two pair, damn.

Where was Kodiak and all her chips. No movement, up or down, no cards so happy at about 75 just catching enough blinds for the rounds.

Then it happened, the big one and the almost Flop in the midle of my own floor hand. Here how it played....Kodiak is up, Mumbles is not too far behind, but behind and Mike Is Low Man (about 2 inches). Preflop, Kodiak raises out of position to $4, Mike reraises to $10, Mumbles calls the $10, Kodiak moves all-in, Mike, short stack, calls his last inch, then does mumbles. Pot size over 100, 2 are all-in and Kodiak has about 25 left. Flip time. Kodiak flips the rockets AA. Say again? AA. Mumbles flips AK off suit, and Mike flips KJ offsuit. looking good. 2 players may soon be gone....hahahahaha......Then Rico the dealer flops the board. 436......turn is a 2.....looking good.....THAN BAM BAM BAM BANG KAPOW BOOM.....a 5 on the river and yes we have a straight on the board2-6 and a &#^$%#*&^%*#&^%*#&^ three way split. Kodiak wins $1. *^#%*&#^%*&#^%*&#^%*&#^%*(#^%*^#*%^

Sigh. &^$#*&^ Sigh.

So onward...and Kodiak is steaming. Mike falls next officially to Mumbles afterall of that mess.....Mike pushes all in after the river fell with a board looking like A9324 and Mike held AA so trips.....but Mumbles had 25 and hit the straight when Mike hit trips.....

4 left. 3 paid.

The Keeper, Dot, Kodiak and Mumbles and almost even.

But Dot fell first...preflop all-in with A-10 called by The Keeper with J-10. Board fell 9KKQ4 so The Keeper hits her straight.

Kodiak has her money back and since no recovery was made, she fell next to Mumbles. She moves all-in pre flop holding JJ. Mumbles flips KQ and of course, he hit his King. Sniff. Sigh. *&#^%*#&^%#

Heads up and a huge pot. Back and forth for a bit then the last hand....

Mumbles moves all-in on the river with 25 clubs and a board looking like K867J (three clubs so he has the flush).....The Keeper calls with over 100, but she had the Tony Phee straight.

Game over.

No quotes that I can find or remember ... too much cursing in my own head. #&^$*#&^$ three way split.

Kodiak OUT

A blizzard of a game....

Five playa's braved the wee bit o snow this past weekend for an extra game at Kodiak's - all in an attempt to dethrone the Zeus. With a late start, awaiting the four wheelers from the East and West sides to show, it still proved to be a good battle. Another heads-up match between sibling pigs, and a good lil pot for the winner.

Non one completely fell by the rebuy at 11, but we had two rebuy a bit - Kodiak and Rico. Nothing too much, but it served their purpose for sure.

There were some big catches and saves, and some small pots but as we have certainly noticed of late, people are actually trying to play this game.

First to fall was the east side, Bacon taken down by the west side, zeus. Zeus held KK vs Bacon's preflop all-in move with KQ. The Kings held and we were all fearing another night of the Zeus.

Especially when the next to go was Kill, also by Zeus. Kill moved all in with KQ suited. Zeus calls in the big blind with A8....and the high card was looking to hold, and then to make it even sadder, an Ace fell on the river.

Three left....and a battle ensued but soon, Zeus was broken, demolished, squished, trampled on, and eventually flopped on the floor.

The real hand that took him out, although he was left with about $4, was vs Rico. Zeus played it well - flopping trips. He had 10-5 and Rico held A2. The flop looked like 10-10-7. Zeus didn't bet big, Rico thought he was good. And Ace on the turn and Rico was feeling secure and made his all-in move. Zeus, naturally called and with trips, its looking good but then WHAM WHAM, and ace on the river.....heh heh...

And about 3-4 hands later, Kodiak pushes all in preflop after Zeus made a raise. HE had collected some blinds and moved a bit up....He flips his "best hand" pocket tens...figuring Kodiak was desperate. The WHAM she flips pocket rockets and Game over Zeusy boy!!

Then it's a heads up rematch for Kodiak and Rico. Last time, she played at about a level 1 out of 10, getting pecked at until she was out. Bleah. This time, she moved to about a 4. While she caught cards and moved "all-in" over and over, she got bluffed a bit and finally was called by Rico with AJ to her suited JQ and though the Jack hit, his kicker kicked her arse. Dang!

Some quotes,

"That's the sound of the worms eating my nuts" Zeus

"Notorious P.I.G." Kill

Antoher game is scheduled for this weekend and it looks like, as long as things hold, we have the return of some long lost playa's coming in - Little Dot and Mike the Mouth. God help us all........

And Kodiak has the cameras prepped.....:>)

Kodiak out~~

APRIL VIDEO

The video below is a recap of our poker adventures caught on film thus far...
For those who braved the few snowflakes and hit kodiaks this past saturday, this is not the same video- mostly the same pictures BUT NOW WITH REAL LIVE FOOTAGE embedded and new soundtracks for some. Poor GI Joe went out pre-rebuy but was smart to only come bacl with ten....as post 10 was ridiculous.

With a7 he took poor GI out again - An all in preflop looked good for our Airboy when the flop hit A25, he holding A2 (Zeus had A7) - Kodiak had started the hand with KQ suited but the Ace made her fold with a $2 bet on the turn. Of course, the 7 came to Zeus on the river....

A-2-6 was the magic cards though - Rico flopped them more than 4 times, once back to back...good lord!

The big hand, taking both Kodiak and Rico out was an All-in move pre-flop by Kodiak with AK offsuit - quickly called by Rico with pocket tens....and called by monster stack Z with, 23 diamond suited. All cards shown and GI Joe started to flip. Well, two diamonds on the flop. Nothing to lep Kodiak - could Rico win? Nope, AN Ace on the turn....Could Kodiak win?? She DID NOT EVEN FLINCH BUT SAID, "here comes the diamond" and PLOP PLOP FIZZ FIZZ----shooting out of the drawers of Z, a 9 of freekin diamonds for a flush....

Good luck fireshirt - fianlly called with an all-in 15 minutes later at 1045 - Firshirt held K diamonds and J Hearts. Zeus held Ace diamonds and a queen of hearts.....and hit the Queen on the turn.

No quotes even as most of the game was censored with a little person watching......

But again, looking for a tell about Z?
Check out the truth behind his TOP GUN......
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHklGtW3rwU

Happy St Paddy's Day Game wrap up....

One musical interlude will describe Kodiak's thoughts on this past weekend's game play.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UArJpA9wm-w

Anyhoo,

13 playa's descended onto Fireshirt's home (with Mrs Curious) this game around. A huge pot after some rebuys and some "crazy play" ended up with a game end time after 330, three ladies hitting the coin, and some wild and wet outside adventures. Go Pete!

Pre rebuy, first to go, after about 100 all-ins or so we think as we were at two tables...the "all-in chaos" and the "25c raise? I fold!" were again distinctive at the onset....but yes, first to go was tracey the tree hugger...outed by James on a daring call after the board was laid out with a flush draw, a straight draw and a full house possibility. She moves all-in, he holds QQ and has 2 pair and calls....she had Ace high. Good lord!

Back on the on table, Rico fell pre rebuy by Ross. Rico moves all in at the flop with JQ (hearts)...flop had hit 8-9-10 (heart-club-club). Ross calls with his JQ (spade and club). Ah, a split. Nope! Ross catches a back door flush when a 3 and a 2 of clubs fall. Bad beat, more $ to the kitty.

Also out by 10 was Chaos man but unsure of that hand altogether.

After 10, some fell fast again. Others cockroached on.

First out, tracy the tree hugger taken out at 1015 by Nikki. She gets to now become our server girl - and quite a good one, although i expect she was disgruntled by the tips. Then Heather fell taken down by GI Joe and GI Jane with AQ - flop had hit 10-5-A, she makes a move and is called by both, who both have 10-5 and 2 pairs, after calling a preflop raise. uh-huh.

Chaos man fell next by Fireshirt but my green crayon scribbles do not show how...although I think this was the hand where the board was laid out and Fireshirt said Chaos man had outs left....all the cards were down, eesh...and he was dealing!

Gi Joe fell next after taking tracy's seat when people switched up to even the tables, also taken out by GI Jane....again, beaten by a girl :>)

And then the two worlds collide with 9 playa's in, and a huge freakin stack by GI Jane. She quickly smushes Kill...who frequents the tree now as well, and reamerges damp and mussed up, He on the straight draw, she calls with KK. KK holds the fort.

Kodiak gets one out (after almost being out at 11) - She fires bacon in a big way when calling his preflop allin - his KQ did not hold vs her KK. Bam!!

And then GI Jane takes down Ross who had been greatly weakened in another hand (I think by Stuey?). He has no choice but to move all-in with about $4, her Ace high holds. GI Jane's next victims were Fireshirt and Stuey, in order. In Stuey's hand, Flop was 10-J-3. He moves with 7-10, she calls with K9 but turn and river hit a QQ and she gets her straight.

Rico falls next, bubble boy, by Gi Jane. Flop had hit 2-2-10. He figured his A-3 was good with her check. He makes a move, she calls (it's very few chips to her!)....She has the 10.-9 and her pair holds. It also should be noted, Rico had his luck used a few hands earlier moving all in with KQ. Kodiak calls quick with AK but he hit the queen to double up.

Left in play, all in the $ are Why Not Kim, Kodiak and GI Jane. Why Not is short stacked, gets some cards and makes her move. GI Jane calls and her hand holds.

Then the brutal head-up tourney begins......Kodiak is short with ony 1/4 GI Jane's stack. She gets a few great hands that hold early on, in the first 10 minutes and quickly the roles are reversed but then nothing, and we mean, nothing happens for a long time after that. No raises, or some but they are almost all called (even kodiak's preflop$20 with AK called with 94 offsuit - she hits a FH - Must be the Irish luck - good play though). Flops and turns are very frequent and even river shows... but high cards take pots...there are splits...there are ltd raises with top pairs. It's a debunkle....but all so worth it to watch everyone who is left waiting to drive people, drink a lot or just curse. about an hour later, Kodiak is wiped out. She was at a loss, and although she doesn't have the cash for the kids' swimming, she has enough to buy a 24. Whew. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Rico.

So, The big hand before 10 saw 2 all-outs and a 4 way all-in - it was the big hand of the night and a rescue for one cockroach. Right after GI Jane makes a move the hand before..., without callers with AA, Kodiak speaks, "well, if I get AA It would be cracked the way this game is going...(kodiak was down to about $12)

So, next hand, the BIG ONE,
GI Joe, riding the short bus, pushes all-in preflop - it's about $4. Rico folds. Kill folds. Zeus calls. Kodiak reraises all-in with about $6 more. GI Jane calls after a brief ponder. Zeus debates, looks at the pile o chips and calls.

Board falls J 7 2. Gi Jane moves all-in. Zeus calls.

Flip 'em!! GI Jane shows pocket 5s. GI Joe shows J4. Zeus shows 67 suited. Kodiak flips the bullets - but will it hold? will her comment just moments before be her destiny?? Zeus is on a flush draw. What if a 5 hits?

NOT!!

Turn shows a Q and with another Q not to fill the flush Kodiak knocks out 2 players, more than triples up and Zeus lives. 2 rebuys and some partials then the real game begins.

First to fall after 10 was GI Joe, lost to Kodiak - his 55 did not hold to her A when the A hit the board.

Then Kill who is in off season mode, loses to Zeus - His A4 vs Zeusy's A6. the 6 counted. Zeus is loose!

Next to fall was GI Jane (but she has beaten GI Joe twice tonight!). Kodiak takes her down - her all in with 84 vs the A9 did not go anywhere as the Ace high was just good enough.

Then after multiple losses, steams, bad kicker calls, or attempts and multiple bad timings vs "jimmy trips" landed him in third against Kodiak....Say, what?? He moves all-in with 5s - But Kodiak had teh one eyed Jacks and they held. Whew.

But dang - Kodiak in heads up...it's been over a year ! And against the one piggie we don't want to....It was almost even going in but after about 25 minutes of play, a few bluffs by Kodiak and well timed ones by Rico, she got small stacked and was wiped by 8-6 vs her 8-5. She, on a straight draw, he with it after the flop. Not the best play by Kodiak but she tried. Next time Rico...I avenge!

And the quotes.....

eesh.....

Gi Joe to Zeus, " He'll be banging himself on the nuts later"
Zeusy "You're going to start playing tighter than a duck's arse"
Kodiak to Zeus (apparently)"well, aren't you a squirty birdie?"
Zeus to Kodiak, " Easy....get your hands off my stack"
Zeusy " Gonna take yourself for a ride on whitey"
Zeusy " wait a second....i'm all out of whitey"

Notice the quotes were all about Zeus......it was one of "those" nights...

Till we meet again my little piggies,
Kodiak out

<img style="DISPLAY: block; With 10 players in, we all wanted the pot especially with 5 rebuys. But alas, it just wasn't to be for 9 of us poker wannabees.

First out, officially, was Mr mumbles taken down by Rico - a good move just before a blind raise - he quadded up in short stack and no rebuy.

Then Heather was knocked out by Ross's AQ vs her 77 - the flop had hit Q24 and she moved all-in but Ross called with top pair, top kicker and no seven came....

Bye Bye Joe!! (and yes, GI Jane beat him....) taken down by Sir Rico with KK. The flop had hit K5J and Joe held K5. up the creek without a ladder as Kodiak says....

Bye Bye James - taken down by Jason - James is low man, moves allin, called by Ross and Jason. Ross with A 10, Jason with A2 but the board fell J3534 so Mr Mumbles pulls a straight.

Gi Jane goes next taken out by Zeus Flop hit 744 - a four on the turn - Nik has pocket pair but Zeus had the four.

Mr Mumbles j10 is next taken down by Kill K10 - mumbles makes his move after the run - board looked like KJ910 - a five on the river no help so Kill's two pair is just a bit better - owie!!

Bubble point girl Kodiak falls next taken down by Zeusy - she's got 8s in the hold and makes her move, called by big stack with J9. And of course, he hits the nine!!

Rico next goes taken out by Zeus dangerous call with only one pair, top pair as it was, with rico's big puch all in - he had lots of outs but none of them hit.

Next hand....Kill gone by ?? Must have been a good one cuz I can't recall!

Ross vs Zeus and Zeus gets to go home and buy power tools two hands into heads up.

Whew......two weeks pass and off we go to Bacon's where the Bronco's Rule, the veggies run free, the tablecloth blinds (but the felt feels oh, so good) and Fireshirt James wears silk....sort of....

9 players in. 4 rebuys. Fun game ~ my details are slim but I do have the knock out pregression and some quotes.....

Mr Phee and attempting to take a pot with a mini straight is knocked out by James. Next to fall is Bacon outed by Kill - preflop all-in a4 vs QQ - no aces so the ladies work again for Kill.

Bye bye Kill though after Ross-a-roni (the real san franciso treat) and Gi Joe call his all-in preflop - Kill holds 33 (we should mention he had just be really demolished by Rico in a blind hand...)GI Joe flips JQ and Ross flips AK - board falls 44779. Ace kicker takes it.

But Ross fell next by GI Joe - Ross held KK, played slow but called and all in b Joe - he hit two pairs. Kings were beheaded once again. And the cockroach, bubble point girl went away again by GI Joe and I can't recall how. But the big hand? Our first game was held January 13 with 7 playa's opting in for all the entertainment value the buy-in provides....

Rico fell first before 10 taken out officially by L'il sis Kodiak (but really got blown by another hand...) Rico's q 10 hit the ten on the flop and he moved all-in but Kodiak held A 10 and her kicker held up for the take down. Of course, her cards sucked hard until a new dealer came along after Rico's re buy.

Next to fall was Zeus after 11 taken down by H...although I must say...it was sooooo much fun to see Kill's 23 (suited mind you) 2 pairs take most of Zeusy's chips a few hands before....who stays in with a preflop raise with 23....Kill!! Then again, we all know what you always have big boy, just don't be making it move while you crawl under the DR table....Kodiak's Negrneau moment was calling but knowing Zeus had pocket queens to her AK after the board had hit with a Q and K on the flop....aha!! Worth the 3 to see that bang on call....Mix it up...girls like that. ;>)

Next to go after some ugly cards and chips and soon no chair was Rico again taken down by Bacon bits who although he played tighter than my pants after a turkey dinner, finally hit with some crazy catches and built the wall nicely. Rico moves all in with K 10 and is called by a 9 5 . The flop hits K73...but wait a suck out alert!! 9 and a 5 on the river. 2 pairs.

James is next to crumble by Kodiak (the queen of thirds for 2006)...Some preflop raises and reraises until James moves all in with 55 - yea!! Kodiak held KK and it held up even though at the turn James was on a flush and straight draw. Whew!

Next to go was H (Zeus was happy as he was tired of petting the pup...eeyew)...taken down by Bacon. Her 9 10 didn't hold to Bacon's A9 when the A hit.

So bubble boy, er um, girl, was about to start her 2007 title run for queen of thirds again. Although well stacked (that's what hubster says too after some beers) it was still tiny against the men, Bacon and Kill. Eventually one of her all ins is called. She holds A6 unsuited. Bacon holds 63 suited. Great, until the flop hits 33J and then a J on the turns. Nice FH dimwit.

No splitsies. Bacon and Kill play it out and while Kill entered low man, he quickly stole a few pots to even up. A few all-ins, including one split, until Kill sprinkled some Bits on a salad and ate him up with top pair. No suck out that time....

And the quote I have (as I was laughing too hard to write any others plus I don't write my own..., you know, because I am so sensitive and gentille)...

Someone said about Bacon,
"The latest Tv cable show, "what is Colin scratching?""

ttfn
Kodiak out

Happy Holidays Playa's ~

A fine turn out was had at Kodiaks for the year end battle - 9 of our 'regulars' showed up for some food (too much perhaps) and drink and some battles. No "fifdy cent" raises were had though as we had $10K to play with. Well done!

No one went walking before 10 - but no rebuys were allowed so we did have some short stacks. Kodiak's first hand at dealing whittled away Rico and Kodiak and a bit of Kill, and then Kill fell after 10 to GI Joe whose dominating wall, and quad Jacks took down pocket Aces. If your gonna fall, falling to quads is ok. But first to pick a consolation prize he did, and ironically Kill got the pooping penguin Pete. (only 0.5 calories per poop)

Then, 11 hit and five playa's fell quick. Rico, who was slightly under the weather, never really caught cards and was taken down after an all-in play (small bluff) when the top pair called on the flop by Zeusy. No help at the turn or river and Rico then picked some McDs gift certificates - if you can't win the pot at least you can add a pound or two to your butt.

And 2-3 hands later Kodiak waved good-bye. She was shortstacked and also caught few cards all night, even after she passed up dealing efforts to Bacon and started into her wine, so when she had pockets nines, and was put on the decision by Bacon when he moved all-in (and Zeusy was fondling his chips to call so Kodiak knew she was behind) - but she called. And she actually had live cards as they both flipped pocket Aces but no luck on her side, she was gone and well, more wine was good enough for her night. Knowing the prizes, she passed this year, but prize enough was the good company (eeyew) and the baileys (thanks again Kill!).

And then, 2-3 hands later, Mr. Mumbles was taken down by Bacon . Flop had hit 285. Mumbles moves in and is called. Bacon flips pocket 10s to Mumbles overcards KJ and the race is on but the turn hits a 2 and the river an 8 so Mumbles mumbles away. Glad to have you back though! (and by the way, when you have A2 and the board has an A 2 2 - my kicker with A8 does not win, you got the FH!) Enjoy the liquor chocs~

And lastly, before 12, Heather is all-out at the river when she moves all-in with two pairs. Quickly called by Bacon who hit the straight on the river. So we are down to four at the witching hour. Not sure about Heather's consolation prize pick. I was refilling my wine glass.

Unsure when in the hand it happened but at some point Zeus had a nut straight only to be beaten by GI Joe's Full House. Joe had 10-10 in the hole vs Zeusy's KQ. Board looked like 10-?-J-J-A. Tough luck. Oh well, Zeusy picked up some scratch and win tickets and it was worth the $50 buy-in to watch him try to play those for 1/2 hour. No $50K for him though. Entertainment value I say...

So bubble boy it is with three players left and 2 paid. A long battle ensued with chips moving about until at about 1 when James figured his A8 was good and called Bacon's all-in preflop. James needed a few chips and well, aces are good - especially when you have two, which is what Bacon flipped. Board fell 2-3-2-3-10. Bye! Enjoy McDs dude!

A split pot? Nope. Joe was waiting for Nikki and Bacon was hunting a full win (plus his pay paid for all the gifts....really!). The battle ensued and while Bacon was dominating, a few tide turns here and there until an all-in move by Bacon was called By joe At about 120. Joe flipped KQ - pretty good heads up - but pocket cowboys are better. Board fell 5-10-7-3-4 and Bacon walks away the champ of the finale - plus the two Niks also got some prizes. Good play guys~

And the winner of the year - regular season - was announced....RICO SUAVE!

Some quotes of the night (and yes, we even have some live tape which will get put on line after some downloading...)

""Not in an orfice" Bacon to Zeus

"Ah, C'mon, Pumpkin Nuts" Zeus to Bacon....quickly followed by Joe's 2 cents "that must be hard to walk"

And FYI, Bacon does not like to be stroked by Zeus. No Knocks outs by the rebuy but we had some stacks shorter than others so a few rebought in, one who went on the place second. One great play....Heather moves allin preflop with $13, called by Tony. She holds AJ, Tony holds QQ. Board hits A6Ak3. James had folded 9s. Good fold, nice pot Heather! However, the tides turned after 10 and people began to say adios!

First to go was the man we were all scared of, especially Zeusy, who I am too sure folded pocket Aces at least once against him - CHAOS MAN himself back in the game life was taken down by Fireshirt James - Doug moved all in with 2 pairs but James had the straight. Doug went on to play an mansionpoker.com. Good show!

A great and sad play....Pete moves all-in after Stu reraised him after the flop hit Q24. Pete shows his pockets twos.. trips aha!. Stu has 2 pair, Turn hits a 10. But riverrat shows a Q - Full house for Stu. Could Pete come back with 50c?

Nope ~ Then to fall was sir Pete, taken down by Bacon (which was odd as Bacon only played 1 hand before 10 and in fact, this was the first hand he won for the night). Anyways, Bacon caught the flush so Petey's queens were no good. Blinds go up and two more will say goodbye - First, Zeus downed by Stuey. Had his chips lessened by Kodiak earlier on when she read him oh too well with her pocket fives to his "overcards" and stayed in to take a pot, Stuey went in for the kill> preflop all-in by Zeus with 10s, called with AQ - board fell 9A756 and the Aces hold.

Next to fumble was Bacon, taken down by his ringer man Tony the Tigress (Meow!) - Tony's Queen high flush hit on the turn while Bacon's flop flush, eight high, was, well, flushed away.....

The witching hour and how fast they fall...
First, our noble Hostess is taken out by Tony the Tigress after calling her preflop all-in. She held 5s vs his AJ - The board fell 9J3810. Jacks hold. Second to go was Kodiak, also by Tony. She moves all in with 9s (after being wiped moving all-in vs Rico with A4 but his A9 had hit two pair.....dang!). Cowboys for Tony and then held.

Another play of the night....Stu moves all in after the flop of QK5 with QK in the hole. James debates but calls with Bullets AA. Turn hits a 6. RIVERRAT hits a 5 - James has better two pairs. STu is down to 4.75...can he come back as we have seen before....

4 players so points are on. No $ till third so we also have a bubble boy brewing. And Brew he did - Sir Stu went out with no $ after being taken down by Tony. Stu moves all-in pre-flop with 89 suited and is called by Tony's AJ off suit. The Jack hit.

3 players vi'ing to double up the buy in at second.

THE BIG ONE
Mike Matasow would be proud and HELLMUTH WOULD be balistic.
Rico calls an all-in preflop with Cowboys after Tony goes all-in ($40 ttl) in response to Rico's $20 raise. Tony calls with 56 suited - spades. Say what?? Looks like it's Rico and James in the finale. Board falls J clubs, 8 diamonds, 2 spade. Turn shows a 3 of spades....by now smoke is begininng to billow when KABOOM! the Jack of spades hits the river and Tony lives with a flush no less!

So, it was not to be for James when Rico calls his all-in with A8 vs James' Jacks - AN ace hit so bye-bye.

No heads up as the two remaining players split the final pot with chips in hand - Rico takes first with about 65% of the chips remaining in play.

Quotes you dare ask??

Unidentified "You've got my back, I've got your back....that's the way we ride"

James to Bacon, re Tony "You brought him , you search him"

Rico to Zeusy, "Riding the short bus of momentum"

Rico, "Limp? That's not the nickname you want, unless you're in prison, then they leave you alone."......."Nah, then they make you catch" Tony.

Kodiak out.

Ultimate Poker chez Kodiak Nov 11-06

Ok - so we knew it was coming one of these nights, a real game of NL. 8 great players joined in, including newbie Mike (Dot's ringer) for some tight playing, well, except for the three all-ins before 10 that put three players all-out. Say, what?

First to hit the floor was Rico - what began as a bluff turned into his bye-bye as Mike stayed in with A9 for the board to flop A3A. Rico was holding a K? and tried for it but was called. A K on the turn thought Rico, maybe I am ok, and maybe I can get him off if he has a weak kicker. However, Mike stayed in and called an all-in which meant Rico's buy-in now was with Mike. And Yes, we were all a bit scared...well, except for Pete whose wall was shrinking....

Next to flop out was Heather, who has returned to our little game (yea!), falling to Mike calling her all-in with AJ. Her 10s didn't hold and Mike now had two down.

And last before the re-buy was Stuey to go - but this time, by Little Dot. Stu's all-in with AQ was called by Dot with 97. A nine hit and held. Pot odds? no, but Stu was short stacked....no comment required....

And finally, the rebuy. All knockouts did, and some of us topped up so a big pot was at stake.

First to go for good was Fireshirt James. Rico, who had a great double up with his nuts, er um, the nuts, right after the rebuy (he got his $ back from Mike) took down James. James moves with 10s but Rico is holding the cowboys and they held. So, James began to deal.

Next to go for good, was Stuey, knocked down and out By Sir Kill. Stuey's A7 suited was taken down when Pete hit a Q on the flop pairing his and it held. Then, Heather said good-bye again, also taken down by Sir Kill, Her K10 didn't stand a chance against Kill's ladies and his luck. Sniff.

5 players left. In the points, but only two were going to see any cash. Kodiak, whose tight play was working for once lost sight of the game for about three rounds and found herself going all in with 17.75 over and over again. No one called, until she had the 10s - Kill had K10. Looks ok she thought until Stu hit the flush with his K. Sniff. (By the way, Kill, when I moved all-in with the flop at QQ9, I had 73 offsuit. Thanks for folding!) :>)

Plop Plop fizz fizz, oh what a joy Dot is. Rico took down Dot. Rico calls his all-in (the hand after Kodiak fell btw) with KQ to see Q10. The K held as high card.

3 players, one bubble boy. Stu had gotten knocked down but his wall soon resumed with three double ups in a row. Rico had made his way back from the dead and Mike was showing his strength throughout. A tight 3 handed game was on its way. But alas, Mike left the table taken out by Rico. Mike called an all-in with 33 (he said he would regret it) to see Rico's KJsuited. the board hits 10-8-8-9-9 - with the river, the K counts and Mike says good-bye.

Two players. They decide to split taking $ according to chips. Good game boys and the official winner, Kill.

Some quotes that we can write down....

"I'd go donkey Kong on your ass" Rico to Dot
"I've never seen that kind of passion from your brother" Stu to Dot
"How do you like to contort like that?" James to his crotch
"Bleah" Kill when his wall was almost gone and knocked out with $8.25
"Bad enough he is getting a curb" Rico to Kill after his first double up - if you don't knock down the wall, the curb becomes the mountain

Kodiak out~
"Ding Ding"

The Die Hards - October 28, 2006

Another fun night of cards at Kodiak's this past week with the five die hard players (we just want points!) playing a bit of Texas hold em for 5 hours. Rico, Stuey, Zeus, Kill and Kodiak were all in fine form for some interesting play.

On a side note, Kodiak and Rico had already played for 3 hours earlier at a Jack and Jill Tourney - see Kodiak's write up under "life of a pokerstars junkie" to see how we did for our first live battle for cash~

Anyhoo,
No knock out before the rebuy and only a bit of cash flopped around so we were all even going into the big play. However, Poor old Kodiak was wiped after taking some good size pots when Kill stayed in a a straight draw to catch it on the river against her two pairs (AQ) - She called his all in but didn't have him on the straight. Dang!

Next to fumble about 5 minutes later was Zeusy...A few bad river beats and then he went all in with 66. Kill calls with AQ (his turn with the lady) - Board hits 10-7-3-A-4. Bye Zeusy......

Not 5 minutes later Stuey went a walking ~ He had become shortstacked but cockroached to third (nice play) but moved al lin with Q8 offsuit and was called by Kill's Q5 offsuit. Pot odds for kill - however, as the night was showing (and Kill had been down to $8.50) the five hit and bye bye to Stuey....

Heads Up Boys!
Rico was dominated by the wall but lived for 45 minutes with some heated battles - well, not really. Everybody's spidey senses were working overtime and although Rico never caught one Ace, his KJ was never called, and well, Kills' good cards were never called. Kodiak got to practise her shuffling a lot. Finally, though, Rico moves with a jungle card, Q8 off suit and pot odds got Kill to clal with j7 off suit. Dominated! until the bosrd hits, 10-J-5-K-8.

Game over.

Some quotes-
"Apparently, he's been eating sh*t" Kill to Stuey's rumbles on the chair and,
"Colin, I think I'll be riding you" - Kill.

The BIG ONE is coming soon so stayed tuned-

Kodiak out

And so it goes...Kodiak takes a split with Rico for first - split$ and split points. Wow, what a night~

7 playa's showed up in Fall River (some after battling with maps and directions) to play a bit of cards and have some laughs on Saturday night. It was a slow battle, not unlike to 100 year war, but there were some big moves just the same before the 10pm re-buy.

Joe Moves all in at 914 with Q3 and is called by Kim (I'm curious - as she was and called so many players to build a huge tower of chips early on....) with Q4 and a flop of Q74 showing. Another Q and K flipped but Joe was out and took over dealing before his 10 pm rebuy. He told me just to "control C control V for the write up but what can you do... I was an English major and I am a woman so I blather on a bit).

Next to go was James, at about 11. He goes all in after a small raise by Kodiak pre-flop. Cards are flipped - 5's vs Js and the Jacks hold for Kodiak (although they were eveil to Bacon twice before....heh heh).

The rivalry continues and while Nikki was pleased to outlast and outwit Joe, she fell next. She moves all in with 75c after Kodiak had raised $5. Kodiak takes back $4.25 and they flip. Nikki's Q5 didn't hold up to Kodiak's bullets in the hold. (Side note-Kodiak then got big slick suited and AA again back to back hands so she made up a bit for Petey's J6 takedown the game before and gained a few chips...although by few I think she got about $3 all told for those three hands....).

Joe fell next even after building a nice pot up. He had gotten Kodiak to fold the best hand and took a few other nice pots but sadly, Bacon moved all in, Joe calls (as did Kodiak - pot odds! for 4.75). Her 74 os did not hold up but Bacon hit a FH starting with Q8 os to Joe's 10-7 os. The night of lucky ladies and full houses~

We then witnessed the slow demise of Bacon Bits, who tried to fight back with his JJ losses, a full bag of 2Gfat chili and lime chips , 3 bottles of flavoured water, a one armed blind bear that smelled of balls, and sitting beside crazy girl, who calls his all-in moment preflop (pot odds!). His KQ vs her A9. Flop hit 3QA...turn hit and A. game over. bye bye.

Down to three. Payout at two, and we all knew it. Stacks were relatively even. A battle ensued with bluffs, big raises, and quick blinds which were at 3/6. Finally Kim moves all in after Kodiaks $5 raise. Kodiak calls. Kim's 8s did not hold against Kodiaks Q's. Down to two.

"How much money do you have Kodiak" Rico queries and offers a split for lateness of the night and knowledge that we could be there for awhile with the way we play so home we went.

And no head up was played but a split pot with agreement to split points (less one....10+7 / 2 = 8.5 so we both took 8 and no one gets second).

So, Kodiak does not claim a one woman win but it's coming. !! Maybe 2008.

Quotes:

"If you lick that, you have licked everything the dog licked"

"Ooh, dog balls", says Bacon.
"No, Female" says Kim
"Ooh, Dog balls", says Bacon.

And a bit later,

"It's like you kind of smelled Zeus' balls" says Rico to Bacon.

And finally, the quote of the night,

When James asked Kim, "Will you marry me?", She said "I'm curious" or so reports Bacon and Rico.

God love the crazy people!

Kodiak out

You make me run like little chicken.....
or, the night of "All-Ins"

Well, howdy ho playa's. Oh what a night was had at the poker rally chez Kodiak this week. 9 playa's (including two newcomers) showed their pretty wee faces and their $ to fight for points, standings and some well needed lunch money. A good fight was had!

We had two gone by 10 but rebuys were had. First, Sir Spider eating, briefcase carrying, happy face tan lines, "Walt" left us for about 30 mins with a pre flop all-in and is taken out By Dot with pocket eights that held. Joe also soon left us but again, only momentarily as both returned after 10.

A big all in happened after 10 but no one was booted. James bet $3, Rico raises to $6 and James calls. Board hit K4&. Rico moves all in and after much delivberation James calls and shows QQ, But alas Rico had KK and the trips hold (It's ok, James got him back after midnight :>)

So next big all-in was Peter who moved all-n with a board of 3797 - he is holding the nine (I forget who called) and another seven hits the river so he gets FH and doubled up.

Joe was next to fly away. He moves all-in with a board of KQ3 - Called immediatly by James with KJ. Joe has pocket 7s. James actually pulls off a straight as the A and 10 hit. Hmm, James pulling off a straight.....

Next big all-in was Kodiak. She moves all in pre-flop in the baby blind. Dot is sitting next in line and ponders hard, figuring aloud she probably has QQ and he has a 50/50 shot. He calls. He flips KA to her KK. The Ks hold and while he doesn't tilt, a minor war begins....

Next to fly was Leah - good playing girl! - Kodiak moves all-in with A 10 in the hold and a board showing A and 10 so she has two pairs. She is called by Leah with QQ. The two pairs hold and Leah and Walt leave to relieve a babysitter. Thanks for coming out guys and see you soon!

Kodiak then takes out Nikki (although typically Nikki scares Kodiak....) - Nikki moves all in with 4s after a flop in which Kodiak's A in the hole had paired. So top pair of bullets hold (But Aces prove to be the devil in disguise).

5 playa's left.

Preflop bet of $8 by Rico and called by Dot. oh oh. Flop hits J8J. Dot moves all in and is quickly called. Rico is holiding AJ and has hit trips. Dot has A 10 suited. The trips hold. Dot soon takes over dealing...And now he hates all the kimballs at the table. We're doomed, but we did not know it. Dang!

Now the two really big hands of the night.

You may have noticed that at this point, all the all-in winners were in fact leading/dominating in the hands they won. No bad beats of the night thus far so we were feeling lucky. 4 left. 3 paid. And, so they fall.....

THE BIG ONE, part un,
Pre flop - Peter folds, James bets, Kodiak folds (she has 2 6 offsuit, again!). James deliberates, and hard. I must say, when we take our time we really do. Finally, he calls and flips (for a pot of about 80) his JQ. Rico flips AQ. DOMINATION! haha! James buries his head. But, remember Dot is dealing and what does he flop?? 8-9-10. James has a straight and KA BOOM - BAD BEAT #1!

THE BIG ONE, part deux,
Pre-flop. James folds, Kodiak raises 5 in the SB, Peter calls. Flop hits 6-3-4. Kodiak moves all-in. Peter calls ( I think he was dismayed by my 3 all-ins in the 6 previous hands). He flips 6J. Top pair, nice catch. Kodiak flips was she has been asking for for three games (ie six weeks) AA. DOMINATION! haha! But, remember Dot is dealing and what does the turn bring? A jack. ARG! No help on the river so byebye Kodiak. KA BOOM!

2 playa's left - James vs Peter. Not too badly balanced although Petey has more. A few hands, and then the final. Preflop all ins - Pete with J 10, James with K 8, neither suited. A 10 hits the flop, Pete has more chips and the 10s hold...

Congrats Peter!

And the best fold of the night? Kodiak is raised all-in by Rico pre flop. She is BB. Everyone else folded and we were 4 handed. She has more chips but would be crippled. She also has KA offsuit. She delberates hard but she deep down hates this hand and folds. Later on she learns Rico had pocket 10s and Dot had checked the flop and told her she would not have hit. Whew.

Quotes?

Walt - "You do crazy thins when you're low"

James "Those hurt - or they feel really good"

And chatter by James....
Me love you long time....Me stay in for long haul.....you make me run like little chicken.

Thanks for playing and only one week till we see you again!

Kodiak out

Here puppy puppy puppy puppy....

Arf!

Who was that masked dog licking Zeus's netherland regions anyway?

But I digress, and to poker I go.

Not much to say (what, really kodiak?) - all I had to write on was the back of a fall river sobey's receipt so no big lies, er uhm, discussions of the nightly playing. I think we all have too many puppy images burned into our brain anyhoo.

We had 8 playa's show up to James' and Kim's welcoming abode for our bi weekly event. Only one was out pre re-buy. But Ross did stick about and we saw 8 in at 10 with 3 rebuying at some level.

Dealer Rico served up some heavy flops - lots of Aces and diamonds, but unfortunatly, not too many came in his hole cards until one time when he was first to go with AK taken out by Zeusy. I beleive Zeus had KQ and the Q was down and held. Zeus called Rico's all in. gutsy for all.

Then Kim was taken down by Peter (and sorry but my recall on the hands is non existant for most). Ross got the boot by Zeus and 5th place went to Peter taken down by Paul.

Now top four. It was a battle for points and for place #2 for the double up. James and Kodiak knew they were on the chopping block but survived repeated all ins thanks to the river a few times...But James finally got taken out by Zeus. Zeus had K10 to James KK but he hit the straight on the river to win.

Kodiak was down and almost out about a dz times. Every time she got to about $15 she doubled or tripled. The "best" (sorry Stu) was when she went all in with A4 off suit and got called by Stu with AA pre flop. However the board hit a four on the flop and then with her little voodoo chanting help, another 4 on the river. yowsa!

But soon enough Zeus did take her down and she left at 3rd. wink wink STOP IT!

Kodiak and Rico went home but a quick email from James indicated to me that about 1/2 hr later of heads-up play Zeus took the pot and Stuey mentionned to me he had KQ to Zeus' K4. A four was on the flop and another 4 came. hmm, 4's were not good for Stuey.

Lots of laughs had for sure and a big kudos to our hosts once again.

Until next time my foes,
Kodiak out

Ok Ok-
I goofed a bit but give some slack to the chick who has had 2 girls birthday parties to host in the past two days and a slew of, well, things to do. "F*** Off". That about does it, yup!

So, another night of fun times at our bi weekly mix ups chez Kodiak...although I hear FR is taking the location back in 2 weeks...oh oh. 10 Playa's showed their faces and gave away their cash for 4 1/2 hours of play (well less time for some...eh?)

All were still in at the rebuy but most of us did rebuy, except chip leader throughout the night, Sir Bacon Bits.

First out was reigning Champ, Joe. He goes all-in after the flop with pocket tens only to have Waugh flip over pocket Aces. bye-bye! (for interest sake, Mr. Mumbles told us that statistically pockets Aces hit about 1 in every 240 hands dealt.....Yo Yo Waugh, did we deal you 960 hands??????)

Next to go was Petey Boy aka Kill. He was taken down by a split pot between Troy and Waugh (each had a ten to hit a FH). Petey went all in with 2 pair. Oops.

Then off and running was Rico suave. A pre flop all in with pocket tens after some action seen, but to be called quick by Bacon with, yup, pocket Aces. And yes, to rub salt into his wound, An Ace hit on the flop. KA BOOM!

Troy got knocked out next, also by bacon bits. He had middle pair after the flop and moved all in but with such a big stack, had to call on a straight draw and his golden (brown highlighted) horseshoe gave him the straight on the river.

Bye Bye to Stuey next who got to hang out in Kodiak's office and on the couch for a bit. Downtown James Brown calls his pre flop all in. Stu had A6 off suit, James had KQ suited. A Q hit and held up.

Side note: we were all short stacked as well and were trying to cockroach our way to 4th for points and 3rd for our cash back, ALL GAME!

But soon after, James lost to Mr Mumbles who we think may have actually gone all in about a dz times at this point but who cuold tell? Anyhoo, After the flop, James held top pair and moved in and Mr Mumbles calls with a flush draw. He hits on the turn.

Top four, whew.

Next to go was Kodiak. She had just doubled up, but played before Bacon all night and his big stack (She like many girls was overwhelmed but such a sight! :>).....Bacon had raised almost all her blinds, and her bets SO went she went all in with A5, he called with an A5 and split. A tease! Next hand and short stacked she held A6 and moved in. Bacon had pocket 4s and too many chips not to call so he did, and they held. WAH!

Top three.

Mr Mumbles was next to go. Wiped out in one hand, he finally moved all in with 6-9 (no choice with the blind limits) and was called by Bacone with 6K. The six hit, but the king kicker kicked Mumbles home. Mmmm!!*(#^%*(#^%

Final Two - Dot and Bacon.
Immediatly, Dot offered a split pot but Bacon wanted to play. So they battled with Troy dealing for about 20 mins. Bacon used his stack well and Dot was catching cards. He moved in with a 9 high flush and was called by Bacons 7 high flush - then one last offer for a split and Bacon agreed. Bacon officially took it with a bigger stack - about 200 to 120 at final count at 130.

The PLAY of the night was DOT though - went for a bluff with 23 offsuit and ended up hitting a straight to someone's 2 pairs. Nice play.

Some Quotes:

Stuey "gave himself a mind melt"
Joe "Stop teasing the mumbleloid"
Bacon "At least Use Lube"
Stu"It's like the time I had the 50c flea market hooker"

A conversation overheard....
Jim " Is there a sock in it?"
Bacon"At least I got it out"
Jim "That's why I don't wear shorts"

A Kimball chat...
Stu (fr somewhere in the Living Room) " Ahhh Winnie the Pooh"
Rico " Down the pants"
Kodiak " No, the batteries are out"

See ya in 2 weeks punks-
Kodiak out

GI JOE WINS!

Wow. another fantastic night of poker folly by the gang at firefly. 7 players were in, and there was some rebuying and tops ups so it was worth everyone's while to fight to the end...but in the end, Little Joseph walked away with the pot (but did Nikki get 1/2 the $$ ??)

Game started a tad late at 9 but that was aok as momma kodiak was involved with her usual crazy 8 adventures and a daughter running around outside in her princess nightgown. Thank God for Qs.

First to Fall was Nikki by Joe. WE all think it was a ploy for her rebuy and then to give more to Joe after 1030 so he could bully the rest of us. No matter, whatever works! So Yes, Nikki fell again also by Joe - this time he had the straight flush. Hard to beat....but was it?

Then after some grueling play and bad dealing (look you were dealing to yourself dude) Rico fell to Stu - His all in with QK came up against the big slick with an AK down so adios, Mr Suave. And with a big drive in the a.m., Rico left only 3 hands before lil sis's demise.

She goes all in after the flop with AQ with and Ace down. Flop had hit 2A8. Joe calls. He has A3. Turn hits a 5. Fear the riverrats.....(Stuey had already taken much of my chips by hitting a straight on the river to my trips).....and yes, Joe got the four on the river so bye-bye Kodiak. Damn!

And she was dealing so no one to blame.....well, maybe Stu. Oh, why not?

So next to go was Stuey also by Joseph. Stu's all in draw was lost to trips by Joe. No hit except Stu saying goodbye although he did stick around, waiting on Petey to drive home (glad to see you're better big guy). So three to go. Bubble boy was about to be born.

And it was Dot aka Paul S to go down next (but fight he did...) taken out by Joe. Flop had hit 776 - Dot moves all-in with A6 but is called with pocket nines. 4K didn't help and Joe was now dominating and Dot left. It was after his bedtime he said.

Sidenote - earlier in the night, Dot laid down a hand to an all-in by Petey (Petey liked putting Dot on the spot all night long). The flop had hit 888 and the next two cards weren't big but I can't recall them. Not sure who would have won but I am interested to know and I forgot to ask so if you guys read this, let the girl know! (I think Dot laid down a smaller pocket pair to the board and I think Pete had zippo) . I think Petey had zippo a lot but we were all scared by the man with nis new legs....

So heads up has started and it was a bit of a back and forth but after about 20 minutes Pete lost to Joe. The board was Q 10 9 8 7 - Pete moves all in with pr queens but Joe had the Jack. "Just Jack" so rally on Joe.

No big quotes of the night but we did enjoy Stuey's comment about Dot's crotch...(why does it always go there big bro?) which lead to some fun discussion battles beteewn the battling P's.

Point standings have changed just a tiny bit but you can check that out under points for punks.

Until we meet again, my unworthy opponents...('cept Dot who I would like to go head to head with...payback for those quads man! Oh heck, I just want to make it the top four again......),

Kodiak out

A chip, a chair, and a new point leader.....

WOW. Oh, what a night at the Firefly poker event. 9 playa's stepped up to play what may have been the best poker we have ever had. Great plays - nice bluffs - and a finale worth remembering for awhile.

It was a heated battle from the get go. 25c raises - ha! $4 on the first hand, and it was called!

But to the facts....

First to go out was Joey, taken out by Dot and then Nikki followed taken down by Zeus. However, 10pm had not come around yet so rebuys saw a return of our fav Halifax fighting duo (plus Stuey chipped in another few to top up a bit). Everyone else was about the same, no huge chip leaders. It's gonna be a long night.

HOWEVER, Kodiak was soon wiped clean by the BIG hand of the night. She preflopped raised with KK in the hole and got called by many. Flop hit 2K2. Gold! Bets, and everyone folds but Dot (aka Paul). Then the turn, another 2. Kodiak bets, also flat called. Hmmn. Something is up. River is a blank. Dot bets, but only abuot 1/4 the pot. Pot odds (but she knew is was over). She smartly calls but Dot was holding A2 so his quads took her down (kings over deuces). She was left with 15$ but Stuey hit Jacks to her AQ and she missed and then Ig finished her off. So a new dealer was born! - You must return my little Dot.....game on !

Next break, Dot had the big chip lead and little Nikki was looking short. And then WHAM! One big hand to rico - he sliced and diced both Nikki and Ig to climb up towards Dot. Next to say bye-bye was Joe, taken down by Stuey's pocket 8's. Joe's 5/7 didn't catch. Good try. Stuey didn't last too much longer though when lil sis river dealing gave Dot 2 pairs and took him out. Riverrat!! (oh, what did I care...I was out...plus, truly, I like to see whoever takes me out win....:>)

Down to the final four. Bubble boys all as only 3 were going home with the change. Pop Pop fizz fizz oh what a joy it is.....Zeusy taken down by Dot. Zeusy's top pair was good, but Dot's 2 pairs were better. 3 up.

Spot (who has been pretty quiet all game), Rico and Dot. Leader definitly Dot. Should have been the mighty Salloums in the heads up but Spot's Ks could not hold up to Dot's flush on the turn. Good call.

Should talk about the other big turn of the game. poor Rico was ka-boomed down to 2$ with 3 players. He tripled twice in a row to $18 and hit to about $24 when Spot went out. Dot was 10-1 chip lead going to heads up. Truth be told, lil sis dealt some damn good cards to Rico during his trial - pocket 7s, AQ etc.

2 double ups later (although it did take about 25 minutes) and Rico was the new leader.....A battle ensued and although Dot hit, Rico finally took him down (but I can't recall with what....it was 130 am). Big Bro's dealing (spot) gave little to Dot and well rico had the luck of the poker gods. But man, good playing. I give my hats off to Dot and Rico for sure.

Although, I do question one fold of KK by Dot....of course, if I had I may have gotten 10 minutes farther in the game.....

Too busy watching the action to take to many quotes but one I did write down was "catching bullets with my meat" and I am not even sure why. hmph.

Thanks Ig and Spot for joining in our games and you can check out updated point counts in the next day or two as I am off on a date! (ssh, don't tell marky-mark)

Kodiak out
