New Digs and Great Plays....(some of the best highlighted in blue)

Thanks for the hostessing Chaos Man and Heather. Great Digs!

Now to the game....9 playa's showed for this week's challenge and indeed it was another good round of poker playing. No Knocks outs by the rebuy but we had some stacks shorter than others so a few rebought in, one who went on the place second. One great play....Heather moves allin preflop with $13, called by Tony. She holds AJ, Tony holds QQ. Board hits A6Ak3. James had folded 9s. Good fold, nice pot Heather! However, the tides turned after 10 and people began to say adios!

First to go was the man we were all scared of, especially Zeusy, who I am too sure folded pocket Aces at least once against him - CHAOS MAN himself back in the game life was taken down by Fireshirt James - Doug moved all in with 2 pairs but James had the straight. Doug went on to play an mansionpoker.com. Good show!

A great and sad play....Pete moves all-in after Stu reraised him after the flop hit Q24. Pete shows his pockets twos.. trips aha!. Stu has 2 pair, Turn hits a 10. But riverrat shows a Q - Full house for Stu. Could Pete come back with 50c?

Nope ~ Then to fall was sir Pete, taken down by Bacon (which was odd as Bacon only played 1 hand before 10 and in fact, this was the first hand he won for the night). Anyways, Bacon caught the flush so Petey's queens were no good. Blinds go up and two more will say goodbye - First, Zeus downed by Stuey. Had his chips lessened by Kodiak earlier on when she read him oh too well with her pocket fives to his "overcards" and stayed in to take a pot, Stuey went in for the kill> preflop all-in by Zeus with 10s, called with AQ - board fell 9A756 and the Aces hold.

Next to fumble was Bacon, taken down by his ringer man Tony the Tigress (Meow!) - Tony's Queen high flush hit on the turn while Bacon's flop flush, eight high, was, well, flushed away.....

The witching hour and how fast they fall...
First, our noble Hostess is taken out by Tony the Tigress after calling her preflop all-in. She held 5s vs his AJ - The board fell 9J3810. Jacks hold. Second to go was Kodiak, also by Tony. She moves all in with 9s (after being wiped moving all-in vs Rico with A4 but his A9 had hit two pair.....dang!). Cowboys for Tony and then held.

Another play of the night....Stu moves all in after the flop of QK5 with QK in the hole. James debates but calls with Bullets AA. Turn hits a 6. RIVERRAT hits a 5 - James has better two pairs. STu is down to 4.75...can he come back as we have seen before....

4 players so points are on. No $ till third so we also have a bubble boy brewing. And Brew he did - Sir Stu went out with no $ after being taken down by Tony. Stu moves all-in pre-flop with 89 suited and is called by Tony's AJ off suit. The Jack hit.

3 players vi'ing to double up the buy in at second.

THE BIG ONE
Mike Matasow would be proud and HELLMUTH WOULD be balistic.
Rico calls an all-in preflop with Cowboys after Tony goes all-in ($40 ttl) in response to Rico's $20 raise. Tony calls with 56 suited - spades. Say what?? Looks like it's Rico and James in the finale. Board falls J clubs, 8 diamonds, 2 spade. Turn shows a 3 of spades....by now smoke is begininng to billow when KABOOM! the Jack of spades hits the river and Tony lives with a flush no less!

So, it was not to be for James when Rico calls his all-in with A8 vs James' Jacks - AN ace hit so bye-bye.

No heads up as the two remaining players split the final pot with chips in hand - Rico takes first with about 65% of the chips remaining in play.

Quotes you dare ask??

Unidentified "You've got my back, I've got your back....that's the way we ride"

James to Bacon, re Tony "You brought him , you search him"

Rico to Zeusy, "Riding the short bus of momentum"

Rico, "Limp? That's not the nickname you want, unless you're in prison, then they leave you alone."......."Nah, then they make you catch" Tony.

Kodiak out.

Ultimate Poker chez Kodiak Nov 11-06

Ok - so we knew it was coming one of these nights, a real game of NL. 8 great players joined in, including newbie Mike (Dot's ringer) for some tight playing, well, except for the three all-ins before 10 that put three players all-out. Say, what?

First to hit the floor was Rico - what began as a bluff turned into his bye-bye as Mike stayed in with A9 for the board to flop A3A. Rico was holding a K? and tried for it but was called. A K on the turn thought Rico, maybe I am ok, and maybe I can get him off if he has a weak kicker. However, Mike stayed in and called an all-in which meant Rico's buy-in now was with Mike. And Yes, we were all a bit scared...well, except for Pete whose wall was shrinking....

Next to flop out was Heather, who has returned to our little game (yea!), falling to Mike calling her all-in with AJ. Her 10s didn't hold and Mike now had two down.

And last before the re-buy was Stuey to go - but this time, by Little Dot. Stu's all-in with AQ was called by Dot with 97. A nine hit and held. Pot odds? no, but Stu was short stacked....no comment required....

And finally, the rebuy. All knockouts did, and some of us topped up so a big pot was at stake.

First to go for good was Fireshirt James. Rico, who had a great double up with his nuts, er um, the nuts, right after the rebuy (he got his $ back from Mike) took down James. James moves with 10s but Rico is holding the cowboys and they held. So, James began to deal.

Next to go for good, was Stuey, knocked down and out By Sir Kill. Stuey's A7 suited was taken down when Pete hit a Q on the flop pairing his and it held. Then, Heather said good-bye again, also taken down by Sir Kill, Her K10 didn't stand a chance against Kill's ladies and his luck. Sniff.

5 players left. In the points, but only two were going to see any cash. Kodiak, whose tight play was working for once lost sight of the game for about three rounds and found herself going all in with 17.75 over and over again. No one called, until she had the 10s - Kill had K10. Looks ok she thought until Stu hit the flush with his K. Sniff. (By the way, Kill, when I moved all-in with the flop at QQ9, I had 73 offsuit. Thanks for folding!) :>)

Plop Plop fizz fizz, oh what a joy Dot is. Rico took down Dot. Rico calls his all-in (the hand after Kodiak fell btw) with KQ to see Q10. The K held as high card.

3 players, one bubble boy. Stu had gotten knocked down but his wall soon resumed with three double ups in a row. Rico had made his way back from the dead and Mike was showing his strength throughout. A tight 3 handed game was on its way. But alas, Mike left the table taken out by Rico. Mike called an all-in with 33 (he said he would regret it) to see Rico's KJsuited. the board hits 10-8-8-9-9 - with the river, the K counts and Mike says good-bye.

Two players. They decide to split taking $ according to chips. Good game boys and the official winner, Kill.

Some quotes that we can write down....

"I'd go donkey Kong on your ass" Rico to Dot
"I've never seen that kind of passion from your brother" Stu to Dot
"How do you like to contort like that?" James to his crotch
"Bleah" Kill when his wall was almost gone and knocked out with $8.25
"Bad enough he is getting a curb" Rico to Kill after his first double up - if you don't knock down the wall, the curb becomes the mountain

The Die Hards - October 28, 2006

Another fun night of cards at Kodiak's this past week with the five die hard players (we just want points!) playing a bit of Texas hold em for 5 hours. Rico, Stuey, Zeus, Kill and Kodiak were all in fine form for some interesting play.

On a side note, Kodiak and Rico had already played for 3 hours earlier at a Jack and Jill Tourney - see Kodiak's write up under "life of a pokerstars junkie" to see how we did for our first live battle for cash~

Anyhoo,
No knock out before the rebuy and only a bit of cash flopped around so we were all even going into the big play. However, Poor old Kodiak was wiped after taking some good size pots when Kill stayed in a a straight draw to catch it on the river against her two pairs (AQ) - She called his all in but didn't have him on the straight. Dang!

Next to fumble about 5 minutes later was Zeusy...A few bad river beats and then he went all in with 66. Kill calls with AQ (his turn with the lady) - Board hits 10-7-3-A-4. Bye Zeusy......

Not 5 minutes later Stuey went a walking ~ He had become shortstacked but cockroached to third (nice play) but moved al lin with Q8 offsuit and was called by Kill's Q5 offsuit. Pot odds for kill - however, as the night was showing (and Kill had been down to $8.50) the five hit and bye bye to Stuey....

Heads Up Boys!
Rico was dominated by the wall but lived for 45 minutes with some heated battles - well, not really. Everybody's spidey senses were working overtime and although Rico never caught one Ace, his KJ was never called, and well, Kills' good cards were never called. Kodiak got to practise her shuffling a lot. Finally, though, Rico moves with a jungle card, Q8 off suit and pot odds got Kill to clal with j7 off suit. Dominated! until the bosrd hits, 10-J-5-K-8.

Game over.

Some quotes-
"Apparently, he's been eating sh*t" Kill to Stuey's rumbles on the chair and,
"Colin, I think I'll be riding you" - Kill.

The BIG ONE is coming soon so stayed tuned-
