You make me run like little chicken.....
or, the night of "All-Ins"

Well, howdy ho playa's. Oh what a night was had at the poker rally chez Kodiak this week. 9 playa's (including two newcomers) showed their pretty wee faces and their $ to fight for points, standings and some well needed lunch money. A good fight was had!

We had two gone by 10 but rebuys were had. First, Sir Spider eating, briefcase carrying, happy face tan lines, "Walt" left us for about 30 mins with a pre flop all-in and is taken out By Dot with pocket eights that held. Joe also soon left us but again, only momentarily as both returned after 10.

A big all in happened after 10 but no one was booted. James bet $3, Rico raises to $6 and James calls. Board hit K4&. Rico moves all in and after much delivberation James calls and shows QQ, But alas Rico had KK and the trips hold (It's ok, James got him back after midnight :>)

So next big all-in was Peter who moved all-n with a board of 3797 - he is holding the nine (I forget who called) and another seven hits the river so he gets FH and doubled up.

Joe was next to fly away. He moves all-in with a board of KQ3 - Called immediatly by James with KJ. Joe has pocket 7s. James actually pulls off a straight as the A and 10 hit. Hmm, James pulling off a straight.....

Next big all-in was Kodiak. She moves all in pre-flop in the baby blind. Dot is sitting next in line and ponders hard, figuring aloud she probably has QQ and he has a 50/50 shot. He calls. He flips KA to her KK. The Ks hold and while he doesn't tilt, a minor war begins....

Next to fly was Leah - good playing girl! - Kodiak moves all-in with A 10 in the hold and a board showing A and 10 so she has two pairs. She is called by Leah with QQ. The two pairs hold and Leah and Walt leave to relieve a babysitter. Thanks for coming out guys and see you soon!

Kodiak then takes out Nikki (although typically Nikki scares Kodiak....) - Nikki moves all in with 4s after a flop in which Kodiak's A in the hole had paired. So top pair of bullets hold (But Aces prove to be the devil in disguise).

5 playa's left.

Preflop bet of $8 by Rico and called by Dot. oh oh. Flop hits J8J. Dot moves all in and is quickly called. Rico is holiding AJ and has hit trips. Dot has A 10 suited. The trips hold. Dot soon takes over dealing...And now he hates all the kimballs at the table. We're doomed, but we did not know it. Dang!

Now the two really big hands of the night.

You may have noticed that at this point, all the all-in winners were in fact leading/dominating in the hands they won. No bad beats of the night thus far so we were feeling lucky. 4 left. 3 paid. And, so they fall.....

THE BIG ONE, part un,
Pre flop - Peter folds, James bets, Kodiak folds (she has 2 6 offsuit, again!). James deliberates, and hard. I must say, when we take our time we really do. Finally, he calls and flips (for a pot of about 80) his JQ. Rico flips AQ. DOMINATION! haha! James buries his head. But, remember Dot is dealing and what does he flop?? 8-9-10. James has a straight and KA BOOM - BAD BEAT #1!

THE BIG ONE, part deux,
Pre-flop. James folds, Kodiak raises 5 in the SB, Peter calls. Flop hits 6-3-4. Kodiak moves all-in. Peter calls ( I think he was dismayed by my 3 all-ins in the 6 previous hands). He flips 6J. Top pair, nice catch. Kodiak flips was she has been asking for for three games (ie six weeks) AA. DOMINATION! haha! But, remember Dot is dealing and what does the turn bring? A jack. ARG! No help on the river so byebye Kodiak. KA BOOM!

2 playa's left - James vs Peter. Not too badly balanced although Petey has more. A few hands, and then the final. Preflop all ins - Pete with J 10, James with K 8, neither suited. A 10 hits the flop, Pete has more chips and the 10s hold...

Congrats Peter!

And the best fold of the night? Kodiak is raised all-in by Rico pre flop. She is BB. Everyone else folded and we were 4 handed. She has more chips but would be crippled. She also has KA offsuit. She delberates hard but she deep down hates this hand and folds. Later on she learns Rico had pocket 10s and Dot had checked the flop and told her she would not have hit. Whew.

Quotes?

Walt - "You do crazy thins when you're low"

James "Those hurt - or they feel really good"

And chatter by James....
Me love you long time....Me stay in for long haul.....you make me run like little chicken.

Thanks for playing and only one week till we see you again!

Here puppy puppy puppy puppy....

Arf!

Who was that masked dog licking Zeus's netherland regions anyway?

But I digress, and to poker I go.

Not much to say (what, really kodiak?) - all I had to write on was the back of a fall river sobey's receipt so no big lies, er uhm, discussions of the nightly playing. I think we all have too many puppy images burned into our brain anyhoo.

We had 8 playa's show up to James' and Kim's welcoming abode for our bi weekly event. Only one was out pre re-buy. But Ross did stick about and we saw 8 in at 10 with 3 rebuying at some level.

Dealer Rico served up some heavy flops - lots of Aces and diamonds, but unfortunatly, not too many came in his hole cards until one time when he was first to go with AK taken out by Zeusy. I beleive Zeus had KQ and the Q was down and held. Zeus called Rico's all in. gutsy for all.

Then Kim was taken down by Peter (and sorry but my recall on the hands is non existant for most). Ross got the boot by Zeus and 5th place went to Peter taken down by Paul.

Now top four. It was a battle for points and for place #2 for the double up. James and Kodiak knew they were on the chopping block but survived repeated all ins thanks to the river a few times...But James finally got taken out by Zeus. Zeus had K10 to James KK but he hit the straight on the river to win.

Kodiak was down and almost out about a dz times. Every time she got to about $15 she doubled or tripled. The "best" (sorry Stu) was when she went all in with A4 off suit and got called by Stu with AA pre flop. However the board hit a four on the flop and then with her little voodoo chanting help, another 4 on the river. yowsa!

But soon enough Zeus did take her down and she left at 3rd. wink wink STOP IT!

Kodiak and Rico went home but a quick email from James indicated to me that about 1/2 hr later of heads-up play Zeus took the pot and Stuey mentionned to me he had KQ to Zeus' K4. A four was on the flop and another 4 came. hmm, 4's were not good for Stuey.

Lots of laughs had for sure and a big kudos to our hosts once again.

Until next time my foes,
